NAEYC Code of Ethics

3 Ideals that are important to my professional life...

  1. I-1.3 = To recognize and respect the unique qualities, abilities and potential of each child.
  2. I-1.8 = To support the right of each child to play and learn in an inclusive environment that meets the needs of children with and without disabilities.
  3. I-2.2 = To develop relationships of mutual trust and create partnerships with families we serve
The 3 ideals that I posted are significant to my professional life because I believe in order for a child to be successful in school you must have a positive and strong family partnership.  I am also a firm believer of inclusion and all children reaching their full potential and learning from one another.  Having inclusive programs children learn that people are different but we ALL have abilities!

  1. Lorren,

I really agree with the ideals that you choose. Especially the first one. It is so hard to want to quickly put children into categories but each child is different and unique and can't always fit into the preset categories that have been made for them.

I wish you the best of luck on your journey

It is a true gift to appreciate the abilities of each child; especially, those with unique issues. Stay strong in your beliefs.
